Cows out grazing in the fields
We are busy preparing all the milking herd for sale on 1st May
Dairy farming is long days working in all weathers to look after the stock.
The working day starts at 4.00am each morning and finishes at 7.00pm each evening. Starting and finishing with milking the cows. The rest of the day is spent feeding, watering, cleaning out and looking after all the cows and calves on the farm.
Many hours are also spent keeping all the paperwork up to date so that at any moment in time we know how many stock are on the holding. Who they are, who their parents and grandparents are and, if not born on the farm, where, in the country, they came from.
Its a busy life for all the men working on the farm
